Persistent area of focal pain, swelling, accentuated veins in one only, but no palpable lump?
been having focal persistent unilateral pain for two years now, worsening. now there is swelling and prominent veins unilateral to that also. nothing shows on mammogram, ultrasound shows what radiologist calls thrombossed veins. radiologist wants further followup and mri, i have an extensive family history of cancer and mom was diagnosed with it 4 years ago at age 45,premenopausel, as was her mom, 2 of her sisters 2 aunts and her grandma, all maternal side of family. i am 34. mom and i test positive for brca 1.my doctor says that even though the radiologist wants an mri she doesnt deem necessary because mammo is clear and no lump, besides insurance will not pay my doc says. she says i am fine and to return to yearly mammos. i am scared. what do you think? also i can no longer hug my kids because my hurts that bad, sleeping on stomach is out also.
