Why is the WNBA broadcasted?

Seriously, everyone knows that nobody wants to watch it. Why even show it? I'd rather watch old poker games then have to suffer watching a wnba game. I don't even think that the wnba makes a profit. Is it just politically correct to have a woman's league? Don't get me wrong, I like some women's sports such as tennis and volleyball, but c'mon the wnba is so far from the skill level of the nba that it's painful. You know that both the NBA and espn lose money by running the WNBA. Political correctness strikes again.
