Did you have experience when you worked at a store in the mall?

well i recently applied at like different malls and i was just wondering if my chances of slamming a job would be lower because i have no experience... i heard though that these places train you... but i bet you anything they would hire someone with experience over someone who doest... what do you guys think? did you have experience when you worked at a store in the mall or did the hire you without?
