Good pet to get...................?

I want to get a pet for more upcoming birthday, I really wanted a sugar glider but the fact that they bark made my parents not get me one. I really want something that has over a 5 year life span. I preffer something that actually has hair, (not hamsters, rabbits, or rats). I want some exotic unique pet if possible. My price range is up to 500 for everything (pet, cage, and toys,). Any suggestions?
