Ladies; What does my friend mean when he says the following?

I think he means that just because you don't have a girlfriend, doesn't mean that you're "losing at life or being unsuccessful." You're friend probably feels as though you put too much focus on wanting a relationship. It is natural to yearn for someone to love and care about you, but at the same time you can't let it dictate any aspect of your life. However, I wouldn't take offense to those words. I just think your friend as your best interest at heart and simply wants to let you know that you don't need a girl to define your life! Best of luck.
