Will Nano bots be used to explore distant planets in the future?

i have already seen talks about releasing nano bots into the cosmic wind that would charge themselves by the wind and be carried around the solar system. and also have many data gathering equipment on the nano bot.. obviously there would be lots of casualties. but they were talking about releasing billions into a gust of cosmic wind from the sun. but this would only explore our solar system until the wind shot them out of the solar system and by that time they will probably stop functioning. but when the future comes anything is possible
