Need to remember this tv movie from lifetime or tnt or something?

there's a movie that was on lifetime or tnt that was about this young black boy from detroit (or somewhere like that) who had an older brother and his mom was a single mom. he kept saying how stupid he was and eventually his mom made him get books from the library every week and in one scene him and his brother are watching jeopardy and in the end he becomes some great doctor and does this life changing surgery on a little girl and it premiered in the last few months.
