Please Help?
Mars often called the Red Planet has long been the subject of scientific curiosity and science fiction literature. Mars and Earth have much in common. The two planets share several physical properties including a day that lasts about twenty-four hours, a change of seasons and the presence of water. Scientists now wonder not only whether life exists on Mars, but also whether it can exist in the future. Currently, Mars is too cold and too dry for live to thrive as it exists on Earth. However, scientists suggest that it may be possible to alter Mar's environment. It may even bee possible to create an environment that can support life. Making Mars more like Earth would involve in a process called terraform. Terra forming is the manipulation of the atmosphere and the surface of a plant to make it fit for habitation by humans and other life-forms. The first step in terraform would be to raise the surface temperature of the planet. Warmer temperatures are necessary to support life. Scientists have proposed several methods for warming the planet. One method involves introducing greenhouse gases to Mars' atmosphere. These gases would trap solar ENERGY on the planet and would help to thicken the atmosphere. As the process progressed plants and eventually animals would be introduced into the new environment. Ultimately, a human may be settled on Mars. The terraform project is not without controversy, however. For one thing, it maye take decades or even centuries to complete the process. Those who begin the project would never see the rusults of their effors. In addition, many people feel that is is wrong to disrupt a planets natural environment because environmental changes on Earth have produced some negative effects. On the other hand, terraforming Mars could help some of Earth's long-term problems. A Mars colony could ease overpopulation or help preserve endangered species. Furthermore, introducing life to mars would improve scientists understanding, of Earth's environment. To some scientists the benfits of the project outeight the drawback. Some researched suggest that the process of terraforming Mars could begin in a matter of reality during the 21st century. even now sicentists are simulation what living on mars might be like. Who knows? Mars might one day be known as the green planet
